Some people say this is about the power of music but I think it is the power of kindness and compassion as well.

I was struck by the information below that has been going around the internet in an email. According to Snopes.com it is a true story. It really made me think!
THE SITUATION
In Washington , DC , at a Metro Station, on a cold January morning in 2007, this man with a violin played six Bach pieces for about 45 minutes. During that time, approximately 2,000 people went through the station, most of them on their way to work. After about 3 minutes, a middle-aged man noticed that there was a musician playing. He slowed his pace and stopped for a few seconds, and then he hurried on to meet his schedule.
About 4 minutes later:
The violinist received his first dollar. A woman threw money in the hat and, without stopping, continued to walk.
At 6 minutes:
A young man leaned against the wall to listen to him, then looked at his watch and started to walk again.
At 10 minutes:
A 3-year old boy stopped, but his mother tugged him along hurriedly. The kid stopped to look at the violinist again, but the mother pushed hard and the child continued to walk, turning his head the whole time. This action was repeated by several other children, but every parent – without exception – forced their children to move on quickly.
At 45 minutes:
The musician played continuously. Only 6 people stopped and listened for a short while. About 20 gave money but continued to walk at their normal pace. The man collected a total of $32.
After 1 hour:
He finished playing and silence took over. No one noticed and no one applauded. There was no recognition at all.
No one knew this, but the violinist was Joshua Bell, one of the greatest musicians in the world. He played one of the most intricate pieces ever written, with a violin worth $3.5 million dollars. Two days before, Joshua Bell sold-out a theatre in Boston where the seats averaged $100 each to sit and listen to him play the same music.
This is a true story. Joshua Bell, playing incognito in the D.C. Metro Station, was organized by the Washington Post as part of a social experiment about perception, taste and people’s priorities.
This experiment raised several questions:
* In a common-place environment, at an inappropriate hour, do we perceive beauty?
* If so, do we stop to appreciate it?
* Do we recognize talent in an unexpected context?
One possible conclusion reached from this experiment could be this:
* If we do not have a moment to stop and listen to one of the best musicians in the world, playing some of the finest music ever written, with one of the most beautiful instruments ever made . . .
How many other things are we missing as we rush through life?
Enjoy life NOW .. it has an expiration date!

I think one of the things we are meant to do is to create heaven on earth, or more like it, allow things to be as they were created to be.
Yesterday as I walked through this field in the picture on a gorgeous November day, it struck me how beautiful everything is meant to be. If we would only match our energy to that of the harmonious energy that is the Source of all things, life would be pretty darn good.
There is a natural harmony that has been disrupted by all of us as a whole. When we feel Love in our hearts and contribute that energy to the Universe, we are helping bring heaven to earth or restoring it.
When my energy turns chaotic, I look for things that will help me bring it back to its intended state of coherence. This video I found on YouTube sure helps with that!
Today I am sharing my personal thoughts. They are a response to comments I received after saying I can’t explain my beliefs that came as a result of things I understood during my nde. The comments basically said it is an “out” to say in so many words, that there are mysteries to some things, as has been stated by church leaders who don’t have answers to things.
I stand by my thoughts that some things simply are mysteries. Here is some of what makes up my reasoning on that.
If you haven’t read my “7 True Stories” it won’t make sense but they are full of things I consider to be mysteries. I am able to “manifest” things because of the way I use my mind and I am able to focus energy for healing and that truly is a mystery to me.
My stories are about things that happened to me but I know things like that can happen to you just as easily and maybe they already have.
It’s not easy to explain how I can heal a severed fingertip practically overnight or wake my boss in the middle of the night after he treated me unfairly or preserve and destroy strawberries with the way I use energy and the Light.
I don’t have the answers and I don’t know anyone who does.
Scholars and scientists get into debates over the subjects of consciousness, where the mind is, if it is separate from the brain, the power of intention etc. and they don’t have the answers or always agree.
So even though I know that I am using my mind and brain, creating intentions and manifesting things like I talk about in my stories, it is a mystery why and how it happens.
I’ve got hundreds of real life examples so I know we are powerful and that we are creators. I think that is how we are intended to live so I do. And I continue to get results that are a mystery to me because sometimes things are more complicated than they are at other times. Sometimes it is almost ridiculously easy and other times I have to work more at things. But I always get results that come when I follow my intuitive feelings and follow through with actions I feel led to perform-the Triangle For Success formula I live by and use as a basis for coaching.
So I think we are meant to use our power, not “row, row, row the boat…life is but a dream” as stated in the comments.
I have been able to glimpse things and understand some things but it took a long time to get here where I have a pretty good handle on creating change and healing. So rather than living out life in some relaxing setting, I feel driven to help others realize that there are tools and ways to work with our minds and energy to create change and improve life.
I invest a lot of time, money and energy to continue growing, learning and coaching others because my life was very depressing growing up until I found ways to change things. So I understand what it feels like to have questions that aren’t answered but I’ve found that enough of them can be answered to have peace of mind.
And those answers come when you develop the ability to quiet your mind and emotions so you can hear your inner voice, your inner GPS that does its best to get a message through to you. That message illuminates the shortest path to where you’re trying to go.
At least that is what my real life experiences have shown me.

I’ve been asked several variations of the same question recently so I would like to give my view on “Why does God allow suffering?” and…
“You say when you had your nde, that God was pure love. Why has he/she created this often times really crappy world with cancer, rape etc? How is pure Love capable of creating a non loving person and planet?”
I don’t think God is the one who created what seems like this really crappy world!
And here’s more of my opinion that answers “Why does God allow suffering?”
I just simply think that is the wrong question to ask. My question is, “Why do so many people continue doing things that cause suffering?”
We were given free will and allowed the freedom to do as we please rather than being told what we had to do. I think we were given a chance to be expressions of God’s Love but look what a mess we’ve made of things.
OK so here’s my rant but not without offering a solution:
We can no longer safely eat fish out of the ocean because it is so polluted with chemicals dumped there by industries that care more about making money than taking care of our planet. I don’t see that as God’s plan or creation.
Kids can no longer safely stand on the street corner and wait for the school bus because chances are pretty good that a predator might come along and do them harm. Predators have always been around but communities stuck together and helped each other out and provided support and protection.
I smiled at a girl riding her bike with her dad the other day and she glared back at me with hatred and defensiveness in her eyes. It seems she had been warned about smiling strangers and taught to see them as the enemy. What a dilemma it is for parents to keep their kids safe yet help them grow up to be well adjusted and happy adults. That’s challenging when you have to stress what they need to fear in order to survive these days.
Go into a public place like a grocery store and look at the people waiting in line. So many people are in their own little worlds and they rarely make eye contact or make the effort to say hello. It’s tough to find time between all the emails, texts, electronic games and cell phone calls now that we have cyber space to play in. We’ve lost our sense of community. Having that bond, it’s been discovered, is a great benefit to health and the sense of well-being.
We don’t eat healthy food grown in our local area by healthy people working outside in nature, moving their bodies and getting the exercise needed to stay healthy. Instead, food is being mass produced while most of us stay out of balance from no exercise, lots of unnatural lighting, being inside in unhealthy air in our environments, eating what seems like plastic food full of chemicals while watching TV shows that put mostly garbage in our minds.
People feel worse and worse physically and big pharma saves the day by creating more pills with more side effects that require more pills. If it requires any effort at all to be healthier, many people won’t do it. So people get grumpier and lazier and look for someone to sue to end their problems.
I don’t believe there is a God up there making decisions about what kind of havoc will fall or deciding what to do to cause these things to happen.
While all this spiritual independence is going on in our little world, I believe God is just being God-vibrating Love and Light. We were given free will and we have created a mess that goes against the natural and harmonious design of the universe.
We know now through new science that we are all connected and one at some level. We pull each other up or down and move through life affecting each other.
We always have a choice and had one in the beginning when things were going astray and we have a choice today. We each matter.
In my opinion, what it takes is getting back to tuning in to who and what we are-spiritual beings created out of Light and Love. I experienced that firsthand when I left my body and car in a ditch by the highway, as have many others who’ve experienced ndes.
Most of us understood things we don’t understand here on earth. We felt the oneness and the connection to the Light and received the understanding that the only thing that is important is Love.
So now we have some pretty amazing studies that show how important it is for health and well being to feel loved and cared for. We are finding that compassion enhances the brain and that meditation strengthens connections in the brain and improves brain structure and brain health.
It seems to me that we have all we need to create healthier bodies and a better world simply by loving ourselves and others and getting back to living the way we were created to live.
But how much real Love do we show to each other here on earth? How much do we go out of our way to contribute to others? That can be anything from picking up a piece of litter to smiling warmly at someone and letting them know they aren’t invisible, to just asking someone you know if there is some little thing you could do to help them in some way.
We have the power to make a difference in big and small ways and they all count.
We can also connect with our inner wisdom and feelings and let them guide the way. It might surprise you how often you find yourself at the right place at the right time.
Living that way is very powerful but if you’ve never paid much attention to that little voice inside or your “gut feelings,” then like anything that is new, it involves creating new habits and developing skills. You can get started by simply deciding to.
Mentally state to yourself and your Higher Power what your intention is or what you want and then determine to notice things going on around you more. See if you can become like a curious child and wonder how it will show up. Do your best to expect a response and be open to receiving one. It often comes in ways you least expect.
This may seem foreign to you but if you search out some of the latest discoveries about the brain, energy, intention, beliefs, emotions…you might begin to think like I do-that we are the ones shooting ourselves in the foot. God is just there being God, providing the Love and Light-the building blocks for whatever we choose to create through our thoughts, intentions and energy.
We’ve got the power to change things and it’s almost too simple. Research has shown that it takes a very, very small number of people focusing on a positive outcome with a vision that is powered by focused energy in order to make a difference.
But as long as so many people do nothing or expect change to come from out there someplace, the kind of change needed to create something different won’t happen.
There is great power in creating intentions and focusing energy and I have seen what we are capable of. That’s why I share just a few of many experiences in “7 True Stories.” My belief about who is responsible is pretty firm after all the research and experimentation with healing and manifesting I’ve done. So I stopped wondering, “Why does God allow suffering?”
Instead, I do my best to create intentions that impact where life is headed and I coach others on that process so we are making a difference. I believe we are the ones who messed things up and we are the ones who need to fix it. We certainly have the tools to do that and new discoveries that can help are being revealed all the time. We each just have to take steps to fix ourselves first and then help others.
Here’s what was instilled in me from my near death experience and life review:
I can’t control exactly what happens out there in the world but as long as I am doing something to improve myself and in turn the world, then I’m doing my part. And that’s what I want to see next time. I’m especially driven because I discovered that it is all recorded and who you are is painfully evident in your life review. I REALLY didn’t like the Teri Rose I saw in the last one!
Here is just one more example of what can happen when you catch yourself telling a negative story (fortunetelling) and then make the shift to using mind power and intention.
As you may have heard me mention, at one point in my life very amazing things were happening that I knew were the result of my time spent visualizing and using mind power. I got scared and threw everything away, convinced that I was doing something evil.
One of the things was a simple little book called “The Man Who Tapped The Secrets Of The Universe” by Glenn Clark. Away it went into the trash but I never forgot the image on the front of the hardback book. It was of a man wearing a suit coat, tie, and cap, standing there in a thoughtful pose with the entire universe as the backdrop.
Over the years, I really regretted throwing everything out and I never forgot the impact that little book had on me. I really couldn’t even remember what the book was about exactly other than that he seemed to be able to manifest something he wanted by putting his mind to it.
About a year ago, I decided to look for it, found it on Amazon and ordered it. I was so disappointed when it arrived. It was paperback with a solid yellow front cover.
I didn’t even read it. It hurt just to look at it and not see the image that had meant so much to me many years ago. And painful to remember that period in my life when I trashed so much valuable information.
The book had spoken to me and his face on the cover symbolized this new world of possibilities that had opened up to me in reading it. It was very simply written but brought profound insight to me that caused me to realize the power of the mind.
It took many months before I had one of those “Duh” moments after catching my negative self-talk about how dumb it was to throw that book out, how it’s out of print and that I’d never get it back.
Just like my story “The Roof” in my “7 True Stories,” I stopped myself and created something different. I saw myself happily gliding back and forth in my chair in the back yard where I like to sit and read. I saw the image of the man on the cover and I felt gratitude in my heart that the book had found its way to me. And then I released the feeling to The Universe.
What do you think showed up in the mail last week? THE BOOK!
My friend Annie saw it on eBay and bought it for me as a surprise because she had heard me talk about it. But here’s the thing. I talk about lots of books a lot of the time.
What made her follow through and buy this one and send it to me “Just Because!” as her note said?
Powerful stuff if you ask me!
